Inside the Rutgers House at 507 North Calhoun Street cut flower and foliage specimens from annuals, perennials, bushes, shrubs and trees–all lovingly grown by garden club members–will be displayed.  Foliage and flowering plants grown in containers will also be available for viewing.  Expect to see multiple artistic designs interpreting theme-related topics such as: cultures, desert, diversity, wind, blue, or global.

This is a Standard Flower Show; so the entries and judging conform to standards established by National Garden Clubs, Incorporated (NGC).  Because judges are trained and sanctioned by the NGC, a blue-ribbon winner in this show is meeting the same criteria for an award as a blue-ribbon winner in any other standard flower show across the country.

Viewing the flower show entries is sure to put the observer in a gardening state of mind!  To satisfy that yearning, the Spring Bazaar on the front lawn of the house is just the place to go.  Various circles within the Tallahassee Garden Club are offering a variety of nature-inspired, garden-related items for sale.  Looking for some potted plants that have been lovingly grown by master gardeners?  Need new gloves for garden work?  Interested in adding hand-made stepping stones to the yard?  Need a nature-inspired mirror to bring the outdoors in?  How about a ready-made, planted container for that shady spot in the yard?  All of these and more will be offered for purchase. Several unique raffle items will also be available.  As a bonus, various horticultural groups will have information displays with free materials.  A refreshment stand will be selling sandwiches, sweets and drinks.
